ShopWise opened at our Hazel Avenue site on Monday 6th October. This is an exciting venture we have embarked on with Foodwise! It will be open weekly 12pm – 2pm at Guildford Family Centre, Hazel Avenue, Guildford GU1 1NR.
ShopWise sells food that didn’t make it to supermarket shelves. This might be because of things like wonky veg or damaged packaging. The food is still good to eat and would otherwise be thrown away.
The shop is open to everyone. It’s a great way to save money, cut food waste and help the planet.
For a small weekly membership fee (£3), you can:
choose 10 food items
get a free bag of fruit and vegetables
There’s no need to keep paying if you don’t want to. The shop is especially helpful for families on a low income who need extra support.
